El-Gouna playmaker Ahmed Hamdi has confirmed he received an offer from Russian club Rubin Kazan while revealing his frustration at the club’s treatment of him.
The 22-year-old joined El-Gouna last summer after spending last season on loan at the club from Al Ahly.
He scored four goals while assisting two this season as El-Gouna is battling to survive relegation with just three games to go.
Hamdi’s performances however has attracted interest from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan, however, there are a lot of complications in negotiations according to the player.
“I have received an offer from Russia’s Rubin Kazan on September 30 before the Tanta game, but the club’s board informed me to wait until after the game because of our difficult situation in the league,” Hamdi said.
“Nader Shawky [CEO of Eleven 11, the managing company for El Gouna FC] promised me that we will talk about the offer after the Tanta game, and when I spoke with him later he told me to talk with Hossam Ghaly [director of football] and that latter didn’t object and told me to speak with the club’s board, but then Shawky disappeared.
“Shawky didn’t respond to my calls and then he texted me that he will speak with the agents of the Russian club, but then he disappeared again.
“I need an answer whether it’s a yes or no. Rubin Kazan made an official offer to El-Gouna which is a season-long loan with an option to buy. The registration deadline is incoming and until now Nader Shawky is not responding to me.
“I am very upset with the treatment I have received from the club’s board. They are treating me as a kid.
“There is a clause in my contract that stops me from playing for any other Egyptian club without Al Ahly’s approval. I will only play in Egypt for Al Ahly,” he added.
