Amr Warda scores on his debut as Volos beat PAS Giannia

Egypt international managed to score a goal on his debut for as they beat PAS Giannia 2-1 in the ’s fifth round.

Volos had a slow start to the game and conceded an early goal inside three minutes after Giorgos Pamlidis chested the ball down and fired on the volley to give Giannis the lead.

However, the hosts managed to get back in the game and scored in the 23rd minute through ’s header, but his goal was ruled out for offside after VAR consultation.

In the 55th minute, Warda was on the scene again and won a penalty for Volos as his header hit an arm inside the box, giving the referee no choice but to award a penalty.

Jean Barrientos stepped up to take the penalty and converted successfully from the spot to score the leveller.

Warda was finally rewarded for his efforts when he scored the winner for Volos in the 75th minute after nodding home a well-placed header to secure all three points for his side.

Volos are now third in the Greek Super League table with 10 points after five games played this season.
