Egyptian swimmer Marwan El-Kamash wins 800m freestyle in U.S Open

Egyptian Olympic swimmer, , has won the 800m freestyle event at the that took place in Indianapolis.

After eight months without a major swimming competition, the United States hosted the U.S Open in nine different cities around the country.

The 800m freestyle men and women event took place on Saturday and saw the Egyptian swimmer record the best time among all swimmers.

El-Kamash recorded a personal best time of 7:52.19 to secure the victory, 10 seconds ahead of his closest rival.

The 26-year-old competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics and managed to secure a 16th place finish in the 400 meter freestyle event.
