has become the first side to seal their place at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon following a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau.

The 2019 AFCON runner-ups are placed in group I alongside Congo, Guinea-Bissau, and minnows Eswatini.

Four wins from their opening four games mean the team cannot finish lower than second in their qualifying group, which secured their place in the finals.

They started their group with a 2-0 home victory over Congo, before beating Eswatini 4-1 away from home.

Two wins were followed in their double-header against Guinea-Bissau, with The Lions of Teranga winning the last game, thanks to Sadio Mane’s 81st minute winner away from home.

They become the first team to secure the qualification to the alongside hosts Cameroon, with the participation becoming their 17th in the tournament’s history.

Senegal have never managed to win the AFCON before, losing the final twice, in 2002 to Cameroon, and in the last version against Algeria.
