Sirino expresses desire to leave Sundowns amid Al Ahly interest
The Uruguayan forward has been linked with a move to the Red Devils since last season, but the rumours have intensified after Pitso Mosimane took charge of the club.
Sirino was one of Pitso’s favorite players at Sundowns and both the Reds’ board and the South African head coach are keen on bringing him to Egypt.
“It is my intention [to leave],” Sirino told Soccer Laduma.
“But it does not depend on me, but on Sundowns to accept the offer.”
The transfer window closes in South Africa on Monday, December 6 and the Uruguayan playmaker will be hoping the Reds find an agreement with Sundowns.
Sirino has been at Sundowns since January 2018 where he made a century of appearances, scoring 24 goals and registering 29 assists.
African champions Al Ahly have already made a number of high profile signing this window, recruiting the likes of Raja skipper Badr Benoun, Taher Mohamed Taher, and Ahmed Ramadan Beckham.
In case they managed to acquire Sirino, they will have to let go of one of their foreign players, with both Aliou Badji and Geraldo nearing club exit.
