EFA president explains why women’s coaching staff was sacked
In a recent series of decisions, the EFA have decided to sack the Egyptian women’s national team’s coaching staff.
Following this announcement it was rumored that the team would be cancelled, however, Megahed denied them and explained why these decisions were made.
“The decisions of the committee in charge of managing the federation, issued today, aim to set the rules and standards for the national teams,” he said.
“Sacking the beach and women’s teams coaching staffs does not mean the cancellation of these teams. And we already decided on the replacements depending on when we will need them.
“For instance, the futsal team qualified for the World Cup, while the beach team have the African qualifiers, and the women’s team is very promising.
“The restructuring of these bodies is depending on their official schedules in order to set clear rules and in accordance with standards that guarantee their development,” he concluded.
