The Reds’ first game will be away at Al-Merreikh on February 12th or 13th, with ‘Al-Zaeem’ currently being led by former Ismaily manager Didier Gomes.
The Frenchman talked about Mosimane, praising his managerial abilities and discussed Al Ahly’s squad.
“Everyone knows Mosimane, given what he did in the past and being the best coach in South Africa. Facing him is a pleasure for me,” he told OnTime Sports TV.
“I respect Pitso a lot, as he has a good vision as well as a distinguished personality. Al Ahly’s choice to sign him was very successful.
“I know Al Ahly well. I follow them from Sudan, and I saw their good start in the Egyptian League, and last season the team was performing brilliantly with Rene Weiler.
“They have players with a lot of experience and have a lot of harmony that was developed over the years.
“I watch Al Ahly’s matches a lot. The team has made great additions in the transfer market, most notably Morocco’s Badr Banoune, the former Raja player, and I know that their current goal is to defend the title.
“We have a great team, and I trust their ability to reach the quarter-finals and qualify from this group to the second round. And this is what every team seeks,” he concluded.
