The 23-year-old seemed close to joining Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Étienne before talks broke down following club president Roland Romeyer’s comments against Zamalek.
However, Mostafa Mohamed has denied that and it looks like he has his heart in France, urging Zamalek to accept Saint-Étienne’s offer for him in a cryptic message on Twitter.
“All that is said about me is not true until now. I don’t know why some people stand in my way to fulfill my desire, especially as I have met all of Zamalek’s demands!?” Mohamed tweeted.
كل ما يقال عني غير صحيح حتي الان لا اعلم لماذا يقف بعض الاشخاص في طريقي لتحقيق رغبتي خاصآ انني لبيت كل طلبات نادي الزمالك ؟!
Moreover, Mohamed has missed Wednesday’s training session and was left out of the club’s squad for their next encounter against Misr El-Makkasa.
The player is reportedly trying to force a move this January, while Zamalek want to keep the player until the end of the season to sell him after the Olympics.
Mohamed burst onto the scene with Egypt’s U-23 side that won the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in December of 2019.
The 23-year-old netted four goals in five U-23 AFCON games, finishing the tournament as its top scorer.
Since then, he managed to replicate his form with Zamalek having scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 46 games across all competitions last season.
