Tokyo Olympics: Jordanian referee chosen to officiate Egypt v Spain game

Jordanian referee has been chosen to officiate the 2020 men's football tournament match between and Spain.

Egypt are set to kick-off their journey in the Olympic Games when they face Spain in the opening game of the football tournament on Thursday, July 22 at 9:30AM Cairo time.

The Olympic Committee chose Jordanian referee Adham Makhadmeh to officiate the encounter. The 34-year-old has prior experience in the Asia Cup and U-19 .

Fellow countrymen Ahmed Al-Roalle, and Mohammad Al-Khalaf will be his first and second assistants. 's Hiroyuki Kimura will be the fourth official.

Qatari official Abdullah Al-Marri will be in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and will be assisted by Joey Rizzoli from Italy.

The Pharaohs will be participating in Group C, aka Group of death alongside Argentina, Spain, and Australia, with the tournament taking place from the 22nd of July to the 7th of August.
