Omar Gaber will start again against Senegal, Ahmed Hassan confirms

football legend, Ahmed Hassan, claims that national team head coach Carlos Queiroz has decided to start Omar Gaber against Senegal.

Gaber was one of the surprise inclusions in Carlos Queiroz's squad, given that he hadn't been called-up for nearly one year.

What was even more surprising was him starting over , who made his international under Queiroz and went on to have great performances in the Cup of Nations and Arab Cup.

Gaber produced a strong display against Senegal in the first-leg, limiting, to the best of his abilities, the likes of Sadio Mane and Saliou Ciss' chances on goal.

With two days left before the second leg in Dakar, Ahmed Hassan claims that Queiroz and his staff were convinced by the Pyramids FC defender and will start him once again.

“National team source: Omar Gaber will start after performing well in the training sessions before the match and for the great chemistry between him and Salah,” Hassan wrote on his Facebook page.

“The player was one of the best performers yesterday and Queiroz proved that he made the right decision,” he added.

The second leg between Egypt and Senegal is scheduled to take place next Tuesday, 29 March in Dakar at 7pm Cairo local time.
