The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced that will be hosting the next two editions of the African Men's Handball Championship.

However, boycotted the 2022 edition that was supposed to start on 13th January in Morocco, and as result, the competition was postponed to July of the same year.

As a consequence, the council of CAHB made the decision to ban both Morocco and Algeria from organizing the prestigious tournament.

The CAHB stated that the divide and difference emanated from both countries showed a lack of sportsmanship.

Egypt have previously hosted the competition on five occasions, in 1983, 1991, 2004, 2010, and 2016.

It's worth noting that the Pharaohs are the current title-holders of the tournament, having beaten Tunisia to the 2020 title with a result of 27-23.
