Hazem Emam on new Egypt national team manager job candidates

member revealed the major qualities they are currently looking for in the next national team head coach.

In September of last year, was appointed as Egypt's national team manager after the dismissal of Hossam El-Badry.

During the past seven months, the Portuguese had led the Pharaohs to the semi-finals of the Arab Cup in Qatar as well as the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, which he lost to Senegal on penalties.

Just a few weeks later, Queiroz led Egypt to the final round of the , but his side fell short against Senegal in another penalty shootout defeat.

As a result of failing to qualify for the World Cup, the EFA officially announced the termination of Queiroz's contract.

The EFA will now have to find a replacement, and as per local reports, there are both Egyptian and foreign candidates for the job.

Hazem Emam addressed the situation, claiming that the next national team head coach will most likely be a foreigner.

“I nominated two foreign coaches for the job, and I will add two more names to the list on Tuesday,” Emam said.

“We want a young attacking-minded manager who has a strong CV.

“Some older managers were nominated for the job but we don't want a coach who peaked long ago.

“I am in favor of hiring a foreigner coach, and no general manager position will be added to the new technical staff.”
