Al Ahly coach promises improved performance following Al Masry Salloum victory

Following their victory over Al Masry Salloum in the Egypt Cup, assistant manager Samy Komsan promised the club fans improved performance with time.

Yesterday, the Reds clashed with Second-Division's Al Masry Salloum in the 2022 Egypt Cup Round of 32.

Al Ahly players dominated the game, threatening their opponents' nets on multiple occasions throughout the 90 minutes.

Despite their many goal-scoring chances, the Red Devils only scored once, through Ahmed Abdelkader who took his team to the Round of 16.

It's worth noting that Al Ahly went into the game without international players and head coach , as assistant manager Samy Komsan was in charge.

Speaking to the press after the game, Komsan promised the club fans improved performance with time, especially after Champions League final disappointing defeat.

“We talked to Mosimane about the games and the preparations for the league and cup,” Komsan said.

“We are continuing Mosimane's plan until he returns, you can see every coaching staff member was there during the recent games.

“After the Champions League final defeat, we made sure to focus on winning all other competitions we play in.

“Right now, one of our main tasks is to improve the recently-recovered players' fitness levels, especially with international players missing the next game [vs Eastern Company].

“Overall, the result was satisfying but the performance wasn't, but I promise you it will improve in the future,” Komsan concluded.
