No plan to stop Salah, says Niger head coach Jean-Michel Cavalli

Niger national team head coach Jean-Michel Cavalli is confident in his side to perform against Egypt in their upcoming match.

Rui Vitoria was announced as Egypt's new head coach just over two months ago, replacing Ehab Galal on a four-year deal that will keep him in Cairo until 2026.

He also became only the second Portuguese to take charge of the after Carlos Queiroz, who was relieved of his duties in March.

His first games in charge will be friendly encounters against Niger and Liberia in friendlies on September 23rd and 27th respectively in Alexandria.

Speaking ahead of the Niger clash, head coach hailed Mohamed Salah but is not fazed by the idea of facing the Liverpool star.

“I am delighted to face the Egyptian national team,” Cavalli said. “I hope it will be a good experience for me and the players.

“I like to have a certain style of , and I will not change the way we play against Egypt just because they have Mohamed Salah.

“He is a great player and we know how much of a threat he is but we do not have a tactical plan just to stop him.

Cavalli also went on to heap praise on Mostafa Mohamed, who had a bright start to his Nantes career after completing a move from Galatasaray in the summer.

“Mostafa Mohamed is another good player they have and I follow him with Nantes because my son plays with their youth team,” he added.
