Mostafa scores as Nantes end winless run with victory over Stade Brestois

Mostafa

Egypt international Mostafa Mohamed has bagged another goal for FC Nantes in their thumping win over Stade Brestois.

Nantes have been on a poor run of form recently having failed to win any of their last seven games in all competitions.

The club had also dropped to the relegation zone in Ligue 1 as a result with just seven points out of their opening 10 games.

However, Nantes returned to winning ways on Sunday with a convincing 4-1 victory over Brest Ligue 1's 11th round.

Despite having the home advantage, it was Brest who opened the scoring early in the game through Noah Fadiga in the 18th minute.

But quickfire goals from Moses Simon's penalty and Ignatius Ganago turned the game around in Nantes' favour after 36 minutes.

Les Canaris extended their lead in the 71st minute as Mostafa Mohamed capitalised on a defensive and slotted home his side's third goal and his fourth of the season.

Former midfielder Moussa Sissoko also added a fourth for Nantes to seal a vital win for Antoine Kombouare's side.

The victory meant Nantes are now out of the drop zone as their upcoming game will be away against on Sunday, October 23rd.
