The victory brought Liverpool back to winning ways, as they secured their first win since beating Leicester 2-1 on the 30th of December, 2020.
“Today's victory is very important, and we hope it can be a turning point in our season. We started training hard last week, and everyone was enthusiastic and understood the importance of this game in defining our season,” Salah spoke to bein sports following the game.
“We play in a different way this season, with two new partners in the attack. However, they are getting used to the manager's instructions. The players are on their way to restoring their confidence.”
Scoring his 71st goal at Anfield, Mohamed Salah has been involved in 100 English Premier League goals at Liverpool's stadium, becoming the third fastest player to reach the milestone at one stadium behind Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.
”I know that Darwin is very fast with the ball, and after Everton's corner, we played a quick one-two pass and I ran as fast as I can to be able to get to the ball and score the goal,” Salah narrated the story behind his goal
“Over the last couple of weeks, I wasn't scoring and the team wasn't winning, that's why I wasn't happy. Following every setback, I look at myself, and try to understand what I can do more inside and outside the pitch. It was important to stay calm, and to focus more during the training.”
