OFFICIAL: Hossam Hassan sacked as Al Masry head coach

Egyptian Club Al Masry have officially announced on Saturday the dismissal of head coach Hossam Hassan and his twin brother , the team's football director.

The announcement came through a statement on the clubs' social media pages following Al Masry's 3-1 defeat against on Wednesday in the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Masry explained that the Hassan twins had insulted the board members during the half-time break in Wednesday's loss against Aswan in front of players and members of the managerial staff.

“The dismissal decision came due to the unusual, unacceptable, and unjustified transgressions from the teams' head coach, Hossam Hassan, and football director, . They insulted all board members in front of the players during the half-time break of the Aswan match on Wednesday, May, 3rd” Al Masry's statement read.

“The players and the administrators also complained about the continuous insult and ill-treatment they received from them, leading some of the players to ask to terminate their contracts.

Accordingly, Al Masry's board directors decided to sack the Hassan twins from their position, and impose a fine on the duo, with the amount to be announced in its coming meeting.

This was Hossam Hassan's fifth term in coaching Al Masry, after being appointed in December 2022 and he led the team in 21 games only, won seven, drew in nine, and lost the remaining five.

Hassan's replacement at Al Masry has been announced to be the club's academy manager Mimi Abdelrazek, who has been serving the club in different positions since 1986, taking over the team during the 2006/07 season.

Abdelrazek also coached the likes of Smouha, El-Mareekh, and Suez SC in recent years.
