Mostafa Mohamed’s FC Nantes sack manager Antoine Kombouaré
French club fc nantes has sacked first-team manager antoine kombouaré from his role following a run of disappointing results.
FC Nantes, who have Mostafa Mohamed in their ranks, currently lie 17th in Ligue 1, two points away from safety, with only four games left to be played.
Moreover, the team hasn't won a league game since February 12th, winning just twice since then in the coupe de france, which they eventually lost 5-1 in the final to Toulouse
As a result, the club decided to relieve Kombouaré from his role and replace him with U19 manager Pierre Aristouy as a caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Kombouaré has been in charge of Nantes since February 2021, leading the team in 109 games, and lifting the Coupe de france last year against Nice.
However, the team's goal for the remainder of the season will be to avoid relegation under Aristouy as they have four tough games remaining against Toulouse (A), Montpellier (H), lille (A), and Angers (H).
Mostafa Mohamed will also hope for an increase in game time under Aristouy, having played 2778 minutes across 48 games this season, scoring 11 while providing five assists.
