Egypt international Omar Marmoush has completed a free transfer move to bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, the German club has announced.
The Egypt international had joined Wolfsburg in 2017 from Wadi Degla, but spent the majority of his spell at the reserve team or on loan spells at FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart.
Impressing with Stuttgart, Marmoush started to feature regularly for the Wolves this season, making 34 appearances for the club, including 17 starts, in which he scored six goals.
His performances earned him a nomination for the Bundesliga Player of the Month award for March and interest from several clubs.
This was mainly due to the fact that his contract expires at the end of the season, with the player refusing to pen a new deal, according to sporting director Jörg Schmadtke, despite him verbally committing his future with Wolfsburg back in August.
Borussia Dortmund and Borussia mönchengladbach were reported to be potential suitors for the Egypt international, but Eintracht Frankfurt were the ones to seal his deal.
The news was confirmed by Wolfsburg last April before the official announcement came through Eintracht Frankfurt's social media platforms on Monday morning.
Marmoush put pen to paper on a four-year deal that will see him stay at the Waldstadion until the summer of 2027.
Speaking of the signing, Eintracht board member Markus Krösche said: “In Omar Marmoush we have signed a player whose abilities will give our attack even greater flexibility.
“Omar has already proven his qualities in the Bundesliga, but at the same time he still has great potential to develop further.
“We're pleased that we were able to bring such an exciting and talented player to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer,” he added.
The move to Frankfurt will see Marmoush reunite with former manager Oliver Glasner, who had handed the egyptian his Bundesliga debut during their time together at Wolfsburg.
Marmoush also will become the first-ever Egyptian to play for Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently sit eighth on the Bundesliga table.
