Ittihad Jeddah’s Tarek Hamed ruled out for rest of season

Ittihad Jeddah's Tarek Hamed ruled out for rest of season

Egypt international Tarek Hamed will reportedly miss the rest of the season with a thigh muscle injury.

The 34-year-old picked up the injury during the club's preparations for the derby against Al Hilal in the 27th round of the League and as a result, he was ruled out from the game.

But it looks like that Al Hilal game won't be the only one that Hamed will miss, with Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah confirming he will miss the last three league games of the season.

The report indicated that Tarek Hamed had a torn tendon in the posterior thigh muscle, and he needs medical rehabilitation before returning to running again.

If the news turns out to be true, Hamed will miss his team's decisive games against Al-Batin in the 28th round, Al-Feihaa in the 29th round, and Al-Ta'ee in the last round.

Ittihad sit top of the Saudi Pro League table with 63 points, three ahead of second-placed , with only three games left to be played.

Hamed joined Ittihad Jeddah last summer from Zamalek and has been a regular under Nuno Espírito Santo since then, making 27 appearances.
