Fenerbahçe player denies spitting on Trezeguet
fenerbahçe player Samit Akaydin has defended himself after being accused of spitting at mahmoud trezeguet, explaining he did not mean to do that.
Trezeguet came off the bench as Fenerbahce beat Trabzonspor 3-1 on Thursday night in matchday 34 of the turkish Super Lig.
With the scoreline at 3-0, Trezeguet scored for Trabzonspor in the 80th minute to make it 3-1 and went to prostrate as Muslim players normally do as part of their goal celebration.
Samet Akaydin was seen spitting at Trezeguet while prostrating, which was condemned by Trabzonspor later in an official statement.
Fenerbahçe player didn't like being accused of something he didn't intend to do and responded in an official statement on his social media.
I condemn the act of making immoral allegations by manipulating the angle of my movement, which is entirely a part of athlete habits, on social media,” A statement by Samet Akaydin read.
“I entrust those who try to tarnish the competition and humanity in football to God with their cheap approach on social media.”
