Al Ahli Jeddah provide update on Pitso Mosimane's future

Al Ahly Jeddah president Walid Moaaz has revealed the truth about Pitso 's departure from the Saudi team at the end of the season.

Al Ahli Jeddah, led by South African coach Pitso Mosimane, have been promoted to the at the first time of asking, having been relegated by the end of last season.

Following up on his success, Mosimane has now guided the team to being crowned league champions after beating Al-Qadsiah 1-0 on Tuesday night with one game left to play.

Despite the success and the praise Mosimane is receiving, Al Ahli Jeddah are believed to be set to replace Pitso Mosimane at the end of the current season.

“We will discuss the fate of Pitso Mosimane after the last match of the season against Al-Hazem,” Al Ahli Jeddah president Moaaz told Rotana Khalijia.

“Mosimane worked hard according to the available circumstances and capabilities. Yes, our ambition is bigger, but the final decision will be in the hands of the technical committee.”

Despite the uncertainty over his future, Mosimane went on to thank the Al Ahli Jeddah board for giving him the chance to coach the team and his gratitude for completing his mission, but without definitively announcing his departure.

“Delivered on our mandate of promoting the team to Premier League and tonight of winning the championship,” Mosimane posted on social media on Tuesday night.

“In any league or competition, country or continent, we catch big fish. Nile River before and tonight in the Red Sea. Waiting for the next Project.”

The South African coach was appointed Al Ahli Jeddah's manager last September following the end of his journey with Egypt's Al Ahly.
