Ismaily SC have been knocked out of the Egypt Cup round of 32 after losing 2-0 at the hands of third-division side Nogoom FC at home.
Ismaily entered the competition from the round of 32 like the rest of the Egyptian premier league clubs, while Nogoom had to play four games in the preliminary rounds to reach this stage.
The first-half saw both teams play out a boring 0-0 draw, which left the qualification spot open for every possibility, before Nogoom snatched the lead through Mohamed Hamam in the 66th minute.
A few minutes before the end of the game, Nogoom FC killed the tie through Noor Alaa to set the biggest upset of the competition so far.
With this win, third-tier Nogoom FC become the only team, outside the Egyptian Premier League, to reach the round of 16 of the Egypt Cup, with Suez SC yet to face Al ahly.
Two-time Egypt Cup winners, Ismaily, are having a disastrous season as they sit just outside of the relegation zone, which led to three managerial changes so far.
Meanwhile, Nogoom FC will now face smouha in the 16th round of the Egypt Cup on Saturday, June 24th.
